I Went In Bitterness features a drawing of Moby-Dick that measures over 18 feet long. While it was displayed on the wall, it occurred to me that the work was not fully resolved. I found myself comparing the scale of my drawing against both the unspecified dimensions of Moby-Dick and the mythological status of Melville's novel.
Before I removed it from the wall, I photographed the drawing. I then took it down and proceeded to roll it up. At this point, I realized that once I could no longer see the drawing the work would finally be complete.
I Went In Bitterness is only accessible via photographic documentation.
