On September 20, 1904, Amos Root - an Ohio businessman and beekeeper - met the Wright Brothers at Huffman Prairie near Dayton, Ohio. On that day, he became the first eyewitness to observe the brothers fly in a complete circle.
Sunday Afternoon is a video installation that records different perspectives of Huffman Prairie over the course of a September afternoon. Land, sky, wind, and bees are some of the different features that recur throughout each video. The result is a portrait of the prairie as it may have been experienced by Amos Root and the Wright Brothers.
