To find each image, I typed “Jack” alongside another word into Google Image Search, selecting images from the results and translating them into drawings. Each drawing in Jack _____ is an attempt to give physical dimension to the intangible space of the screen. Given the amount of time the average American spends online (see here), this project highlights the tension between immaterial data and the physical act of drawing.

Jack _____ includes twenty-eight drawings to date.

Our compulsion to discover new stuff once required us to go out and walk around. Now it's gratified with a flick of a finger.

This is what "search" has meant: a journey of exploration and self-creation, not an instant swipe to already composed answers.
