To find each image, I typed “Jack” alongside another word into Google Image Search, selecting an image from the results and translating it into a drawing. Each image in the project is an attempt to give physical dimension to the intangible space of the screen. Jack _____, then, highlights the tension between immaterial data and the physical act of drawing.

Our compulsion to discover new stuff once required us to go out and walk around. Now it's gratified with a flick of a finger.

This is what "search" has meant: a journey of exploration and self-creation, not an instant swipe to already composed answers.

Every time you search for something on Google, an algorithm is subtly shifting your attention towards something it wants you to see, and setting out the form within which you will comprehend it.
